낯선 땅 캐나다에 정착하기 위해 청춘을 다한 한인 노인들을 섬기는 사역 입니다. 이젠 실버헤어가 된 그들이 도움이 필요하여 마음의 종을 울릴 때 그들에게 다가가 그들의 필요를 채워 드리고자 하는 마음으로 실버벨이란 이름을 지었습니다.

많은 어르신들이 이민 사회에서 소수민족으로 살면서 언어의 장벽, 문화의 차이 등 많은 어려움을 겪어 오셨습니다. 노년의 때를 맞아 평안해지시기보다 자녀와의 소원해진 관계나 배우자의 사망, 커뮤니티의 부재 등으로 사회적 고립감을 느끼고 외로이 칩거 생활을 하시는 안타까운 경우가 많습니다. 토론토에 거주하는 독거노인들을 정기적으로 방문하여 육체적, 정신적, 영적 돌봄을 해드리는 것을 목표로 합니다

We are a ministry that serves the elderly Korean Canadians who have spent their youth to settle in Canada, a strange land. We named our ministry “Silver Bell” with the hope of reaching out to those who are now silver-haired and meeting their needs when they ring the bell of help.

Many elderly Korean people have experienced many difficulties such as language barriers and cultural differences while living as a minority in an immigrant society. Rather than being at peace as they age, they often feel socially isolated due to estrangement from their children, the death of a spouse, or the lack of community, and end up living alone. We aim to visit seniors living alone in Toronto area on a regular basis to provide them with physical, mental, and spiritual care.
